Happy Thanksgiving : Take a break!

Is taking a break from exercise good or bad? Taking a day off or even a few days off is a good thing. Taking a break gives your body and mind a chance to relax, recover, and adapt to the previous training sessions. Specifically for muscle growth, a break is necessary. During weight lifting, microscopic tears happen in your muscle tissue, and on the rest, the tissue heals and grows, resulting in stronger muscles. Breaking from your regular cardio routine can help you avoid repetitive stress injuries and overtraining.

Other benefits of taking a break from exercise:

Mental Break

Tough workouts require willpower and mental stamina, which can weigh a lot on you psychologically from week to week. So, taking a break from exercise will not only do your body good but your mind as well.

Hang Out

We can make balancing life difficult, thinking we always have to be on the grind. Taking a day off from your regular exercise routine to spend time with family and friends can rejuvenate you in more ways than one. Love, laugh, and have fun!

Finish projects

Sticking to a regular workout routine requires a consistent time commitment. Sometimes we're relentless with this time and can find that other significant tasks fall by the wayside. Striking a balance helps you lead a happy life. So, finish reading that book you've put off, visit a friend you haven't seen in a while, or take the time to plan and book your next vacation.

Exercise helps you gain self-confidence. Every time you decide to improve your cardio endurance or increase strength, you empower yourself. And when you see results, it encourages you to keep pushing. On the other side of that, permit yourself to take a break from time to time. Balance ensures your individual growth and mental well-being. Achieve balance by listening to your body and giving your body what it needs.
